The Finish Details That Matter

Trim, molding, built-ins, and custom woodwork in Parrish, Bradenton, and Sarasota — the kind of work you notice when it's right and really notice when it's wrong.

The Problem

Most people don't think about trim until it's done badly.

Gaps at the corners. Baseboards that don't sit flush. Crown molding joints that opened up six months after install. Builder-grade casing that makes a nice home feel cheap. You see it everywhere — in new construction and renovations alike.

Carpentry and trim work is where craftsmanship either shows up or doesn't. It's the detail that separates a home that feels finished from one that feels rushed. And in Florida — where humidity causes wood to expand and contract, and where older homes have settled in ways that make nothing quite level — getting it right takes patience and skill.

We take our time with trim and carpentry. We measure twice, cope our joints, fill and sand the details, and leave you with work that looks like it belongs in the house.

What We Build

Carpentry and trim work done with real attention.

Trim & Molding

Crown molding, baseboards, window and door casing, chair rail — trim is what makes a room look finished. We measure precisely, cut clean miters, and fill and caulk so the joints disappear. No gaps, no sloppy corners.

Built-Ins & Shelving

Custom bookshelves, window seats, mudroom cubbies, entertainment centers — built-ins add function and character. We build them to fit the space exactly, not just close enough.

Door Installation

Interior doors, closet doors, barn doors, pocket doors — we hang them plumb, level, and operating smoothly. In older Florida homes where nothing is quite square anymore, that takes experience.

Custom Woodwork

Wainscoting, board and batten, coffered ceilings, mantels — the kind of work that gives a room real character. We handle the design details and execute them cleanly.

Closet & Storage Solutions

Custom closet builds, pantry shelving, garage storage, laundry room organization — practical carpentry that makes daily life easier. Built to fit your space, not a catalog template.

Why It Matters

Trim is the handwriting of a remodel.

You can have beautiful tile, great cabinets, and perfect paint — but if the trim work is sloppy, the whole room feels off. Trim and carpentry are the details that tie everything together.

In Florida homes, trim also has a practical job. It covers expansion gaps, transitions between materials, and the natural settling that happens in our sandy soil. Done right, it handles all of that while looking intentional and clean.

Whether we're adding crown molding to a living room in Lakewood Ranch, building a window seat in a Parrish farmhouse, or replacing builder-grade casing throughout a Sarasota home — the approach is the same: measure carefully, cut precisely, finish cleanly.

FAQ

Common Questions About Carpentry & Trim Work

How much does crown molding cost to install in Florida?

In the Bradenton and Sarasota area, crown molding installation typically costs $5 to $12 per linear foot installed, depending on the profile size, material, and room complexity. A standard living room might run $600 to $1,200. MDF crown is the most affordable option and paints beautifully. Solid wood profiles cost more but are ideal for stain-grade applications. Rooms with a lot of corners, cathedral ceilings, or outside angles take more time and skill, which affects the price. We give you a clear quote after measuring your rooms — no guesswork.

Can you match existing trim in an older home?

In most cases, yes. A lot of older homes in Bradenton, Sarasota, and Parrish have trim profiles that were standard 20 or 30 years ago but aren't stocked at the big box stores anymore. We can source matching profiles from specialty millwork suppliers, or if it's a truly unique profile, we can have it custom milled to match. We bring a sample of your existing trim to compare and make sure the match is seamless before we install anything.

How long does trim and molding installation take?

A single room — crown molding, baseboards, and window and door casing — usually takes one to two days. A full home trim-out (every room, every doorway, every window) typically runs one to two weeks depending on the size of the house and the level of detail. That includes measuring, cutting, installing, filling nail holes, caulking, and leaving everything paint-ready. We lay out the full schedule before we start.

What type of wood holds up best in Florida humidity?

For painted interior trim, MDF and primed finger-joint pine are the most stable and cost-effective options — they resist warping and take paint beautifully. For bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms where moisture levels are higher, we recommend PVC or composite trim because they won't swell, rot, or grow mold no matter how humid it gets. For stain-grade work where you want to see natural wood grain, poplar and oak are solid choices for interior applications. We always factor in which room the trim is going in before recommending the material.

Do you build custom shelving and built-ins?

Absolutely — it's one of our favorite things to build. Bookshelves, entertainment centers, window seats, mudroom cubbies with hooks and benches, home office desks, pantry shelving, and closet systems. Everything is built on site and designed to fit your exact space, not cut from a catalog template. Built-ins add real character and function to a home, and because they're custom, they use every inch of space efficiently. We handle the design details, build, and finishing.

Can you install interior doors?

Yes — we install all types of interior doors including pre-hung doors, slab doors hung in existing frames, barn doors, pocket doors, and French doors. In older Florida homes where the frames have shifted and nothing is perfectly square anymore, hanging a door that operates smoothly takes real experience. We shim the frame plumb and level, mortise the hinges precisely, and make sure the door swings, latches, and closes the way it should. We can also replace outdated hollow-core doors with solid-core for better sound insulation and a more substantial feel.
